Virginia Rail
(juvenile and
adult)
Rallus limicola

Juvenile Virginia Rail feeding
along the banks of the canal at Bear River MBR.
I cloned out a very large purple flower in the lower left corner (in
case the photo
purists are interested) but left the small one in the middle of the
picture. This is
the first juvenile rail I have ever seen. © Carol Davis, 8-20-06
