What does a Greater Roadrunner snack on? (two photos)

We just happened to see this roadrunner hop up on one of many burned Joshua trees in
Southern Utah as we were driving back out from Lytle Ranch. It was carrying
a lizard and just froze there when it saw us stop on the road. Quite suddenly it began
making the moaning sound they are so famous for and after a couple of minutes it climbed
down and disappeared. We think the nest was probably near by. ©Carol Davis, 4-24-06
