Snow
Bunting (three photos)
Plectropenax
nivalis

How bizarre that the
instant I click the shutter a horned lark flies through my field of
view and the
Snow Bunting still manages to steal the show. This was so cute I
just had to post it. © Carol Davis, 1-2-2008

As I was leaving Antelope Island, I spotted the first flock of Horned
Larks I had seen all day. There were
just seven larks and what a shock to find this little Snow Bunting with
them. What are the odds?
I hadn't seen one for a few years so I really enjoyed watching it flit
around, hopping upon all the
rocks in the area and just looking cute. © Carol Davis, 1-2-2008
