Colinus virginianus
With the arrival of a storm to Pat and Dori Williams' home in Bloomington, Utah, things started
dropping from the sky, like this Northern Bobwhite quail . They are not found in Utah and do not even
appear on the bird checklist, so this was rather shocking to see in Southern Utah. People privately
raise Bobwhites for various reasons and this sweet thing was lucky enough to escape captivity. Their
name is a takeoff from the call they make which sounds like "bob-white!"
