Hermit Thrush at Garr Ranch, Antelope

I followed this little thrush along a path by some phragmites
until it hopped up on this twig and just
sat there motionless. I moved slowly towards it as close as I
dared and then waited with it. I
was amazed
it did not fly away but I could see it was a young one and they tend to
be more trusting.
After about 5 minutes
a bug flew by and the thrush just reached out and grabbed it from the
air and hardly
mussed a feather
doing it. What you see in its beak is all that's left of
