These first two photos show some of the bobbing associated with Western Grebes. I could
watch this all day because it's so fascinating and romantic (it's undeniable).
When I took these last two shots I was in awe of the beauty of these birds. Both had caught a fish. The female
swallowed hers right away and then followed the male until he turned around, dipped in the water, came
quickly up and handed her that fish. The look on his face says it all and she looks positively overjoyed (the
male is on the right). I felt privileged to be witnessing such a neat moment. © Carol Davis, 4-15-07
