More posturing at the popular fishing spot. Over two weeks of freezing
daytime temperatures made fishing the small open areas of the bay a little
nerve-racking for the birds who had to share the water. This little heron,
which I'm assuming is a female, held her ground and chased off every bird
attempting to take over her spot. © Carol Davis, 1-28-07
