Common
Nighthawk (two photos)
Chordeiles minor

I found this beautiful Nighthawk
near Jordanelle Reservoir. Nighthawks during migration can be
found sleeping on the roofs of houses, on powers lines, pretending to
be a knob on a branch of
your favorite tree, or
your may find them swooping through the sky around your house at dusk
hunting for flying
insects. © Carol Davis, 7-3-2011
Common Nighthawk sleeping on a wire at the
Sportman's Access near Goshen, Utah.
This one decided to keep an eye on us as we tried to
photograph it from the road below.
