I heard my Robin and my Quail giving predators calls today so I ran out and this is
what I found between my house and the house next door. The little baby quail
had just crawled through the shady part of the grass into the sunlight and
their mom had gathered them around her to give instructions on how to
make it across the driveway and into the safety of the large round bush in
my front yard. I especially like the look on the face of the fourth little quail from
the left--the way he's looking at his sibling. So sweet! © Carol Davis, 6-16-06
And they're off! Look at those little babies high-stepping it across the cement. They're
so vulnerable when they're in the open like that.
