Gymnogyps californianus
This California Condor was a life bird for me. Sometimes these fragile birds are
seen from the overlook points along the drive to Kolob Reservoir in southern Utah.
This certainly saves a trip to the Arizona Strip to try to find them.
We had pulled over to check a canyon overlook for condors and
found none, flying or perching, down over the edge. I turned around,
started for the car, glanced up at some huge evergreens next to the
road and there was magnificent #81. What a fantastic experience!
