Large Wolf Spider
Family Lycosidae
body length 1 inch

I thought this was a Tarantula when I first saw it on the wall but
as I got closer I saw it looked like a Wolf Spider so then
it entered my mind it might be a rubber joke spider. Well, it
wasn't. It was a HUGE Wolf Spider the size of which I have
never seen before. I wish I could have taken it home (if it were
legal) but I don't know that I would have had the insects
required to feed it. It let me get up close and personal
and take pictures--what a docile creature. Probably just ate
something and was too full to move. With its legs out straight it
was about 2 1/2 inches long. Any normal person
would have run screaming out of the room. I loved it!
