Unidentified
Yellow and Brown Caterpillars on Sunflower
From smallest to largest
Very small and skinny.
A little larger and chunkier.
I only saw these caterpillars in one area on Antelope Island
and there were about three different sizes. They
appear to be the same species in different stages of growth, either
moth or or butterfly larvae, I just don't
know. Any help would be appreciated. I went back a week
later and found none. Maybe someone
gathered them. This last one was the most developed of the three
sizes of caterpillars. © Carol Davis, 9-13-2009
