Spotted Tussock Moth
Caterpillar
Lophocampa maculata

This Tussock Moth caterpillar was sharing lunch with many
other caterpillars. Quite a fancy tree with all the orange,
black.and white. The
adult moth, of which I don't have a photo, is light brown with
darker brown
zigzags. Very pretty. The larvae feed on leaves of willows and
other trees. I'm not sure what kind this one is feasting
on. © Carol Davis, 9-7-2008
