Sordid
Dart
Euxoa adumbrata

I believe this is the Sordid Dart Moth, although
I haven't had confirmation of that yet. It seems
to be the same in wing pattern to the one I found on
Bugguide.net. No one seems to know what the
larvae of this moth eat or what plants they prefer. They probably
eat anything they can get their
grubbies on, like most cutworm moths. I found this one on Antelope
Island and it is in the prime
of its existence--no real worn spots as yet. This moth was on
Antelope Island trapped
inside a building. © Carol Davis, 5-31-2009
