Narrow-winged Midget
Tarache augustipennis

It took a while searching both Google and
Bugguide.net but I finally discovered the identify of this moth.
Not much is known about
the Narrow-winged Midget but it is a Western US moth and its territory
extends into
Canada. Its food sources are still a mystery,
I guess. It's kind
of funny, I was looking down on the beautiful flowers of the Rocky
Mountain Bee Plant, which is
one of my favorites,
and I saw what looked like a bird dropping.
I decided to take a few photos and then go in for a closer look, and
the "dropping"
took
flight. This was my only decent shot. © Carol
