Dioryctria disclusa
Moth
"Webbing Coneworm Moth"

This orange-colored moth was warming itself next to my porch
light in Taylorsville, Utah. The coloring is a natural
camouflage for them on their host--pine trees. They can hide on the
cones and blend in quite well. It is the larva that
does all the damage, though. © Carol Davis, 7-13-2008
