Digrammia subminiata
"Vermilion Granite"
I looked extensively for information on what plant this moth
and its larvae prefer but I could find nothing.
Here is a link
to the best information I could find. Did you ever know someone who was
so nondescript
that they could do anything and no one would remember them? That's the
kind of moth this is; if it held
up a bank, witnesses would only remember it was sporting a
mustache! I think it's a very beautiful
moth and only about 14 mm from head to toe. It was spending the
day resting near my front porch
light--probably storing up energy to sell swamp land near Utah
Lake. © Carol Davis, 9-17-2010
