Cicada - Part III

Genus Okanagana

This beautiful teneral cicada, who had recently broken out of
its little shell, was just waiting for its wings to
dry fully. I came back about 15 minutes later and the cicada was
gone to a safer location to complete the
process--I think I scared it off with all the camera flashes.
They do not get their final coloring
until they have completely dried. © Carol Davis,
