Small Robber Fly
with a Parasitic Wasp
Family Asilidae
I saw this little insect that resembled a small Robber Fly
sitting on a leaf in the desert near Lytle Ranch in
Southern Utah. I have to admit I've never seen one this small before.
When I got a chance to look at the
picture on my computer, low and behold, the robber fly was eating
something even smaller - a minuscule
parasitic wasp (according to Bugguide.net). Cool! ©
