Predatory
Stink
Bug
Apoecilus cynicus

I saw this stink bug while driving my car down a
dirt road at Strawberry Reservoir. I thought to
myself, "why stop--just another stink bug", but he was just too much
out in the open so I figured
something was up. Normally, at least from my
experience, stink bugs are very skittish
and will take off for cover when they see you coming.

It's always fun to find a predatory stink bug just to offset the
other stink bugs who are pests.
This one kept hold of his catch even as he dragged it down through the
rabbitbrush to get
away from me. Aren't those eyes a beautiful color! ©
