Anabrus simplex
Female Mormon Cricket with one missing back leg. Thousands were crossing the desert on the road
to Fish Springs in the west desert of Utah. The ground was moving with these things--very freaky. I was
able to take a photo only because the missing leg slowed this girl down. The long thing on the back is
