Aphodius pumiliio
I stepped out of the passenger's side on my friend's car and happened to glance down at the ground and spy a tiny
winged beetle - just drawing in its wings. It was this attractive dung beetle. Someone on Bugguide at first thought
this was Aphodius rectus but someone later identified it as Aphodius pumilio. © Carol Davis, 3-16-2011
The wind was blowing quite hard on this day so maybe the beetle just happened to be blown into my yard.
I got off two pictures (I always try to carry my camera with me) before it scampered into
