Carpet
Beetle
Dermestes frischi
I knew from past experience that this small insect I found on
Antelope
Island had to be a carpet beetle.
This one, however, had a little different coloring than my
other ones.
Racing stripes! What a great way to deck out a beetle.
A white belly is irresistible - makes me want to tickle
it. This belly is exactly like
the belly of Dermestes frischi, a new species for me!
These carpet beetles feed on
decaying matter and stored food and are native to Canada.
