Jagged Ambush Bug, Part I
(three
photos)
Just one of many "firsts" found at Bear River MBR. This
small bug preys upon
other insects and, in most instances, manages a darn good camouflage
job.
This particular bug was just sitting on a sunflower leaf. © Carol

I knew this was an Ambush Bug when I took the photo but
didn't realize until checking
the downloaded image that there was a mating pair on this flower ©

Soldier Fly (Odontomyia) standing over two mating ambush bugs who
could eat him in a second if they weren't so busy. Carol
